Little Owl Cottage is a grade II listed thatched character cottage hidden away in the small village of Knowstone on the edge of Exmoor. The village boasts a Michelin Starred Pub - The Masons Arms which is 50yds from Little Owl. The Masons Arms is the 'Michelin Pub of the Year 2010'

The kitchen is equipped with all you need for a weekend stay, including a ceramic hob & oven, dualit toaster & kettle, fridge and a butchers block. You will also find things like Denby pottery and Le Creuset pots and pans. The kitchen leads out to the long secure grassed garden with stepping stones leading to a large paved area with garden furniture which offers breath-taking views of Exmoor National Park.
The bedroom encompasses the first floor, it oozes character with its original wonky cob walls and a wonderful window seat in which to sit and watch the world go by. It has a double white iron bed with luxury memory foam mattress, Mulberry throw, luxury duvet, pillows and sheets. Furniture includes a dressing table with chair and ample storage for clothes. The bedroom is very welcoming with shabby chic decorations and Farrow and Ball colours.
Little Owl was built in the 16th Century and the lounge exudes charm and character with a large inglenook fireplace with original bread oven and a wood burning stove, large window seat and original ceiling beams. Restoration has been tastefully completed with small touches like Bakelite light switches and hand made Nigel Tyas wall lights. The lounge also has the home comforts you would expect, from an extra comfortable Laura Ashley leather sofa to a Sony LCD TV and DVD. The lounge offers a dining table for 2.
Downstairs you will find a large corner shower with electric shower, WC and sink. Arran Aromatics toiletries are provided.
Little Owl is ideal for a romantic night in - sitting in front of the fire listening to your favourite music! Guests will be delighted to find an honesty bar in the lounge. We also have a range of CDs and DVD's, magazines and books.

The North Devon and Exmoor Walking Festival has a good choice of guided walks on offer in spring and autumn. The walks range from about 4 to 10 miles long, taking in our beautiful coast, the moors of Exmoor, the Quantocks and north Devon. There are plenty of walks available close to our accommodation.
